Default Ceremony time and Desert party timing?

Hello everyone! I'm in the researching phase of a Disney wedding! I'm not sure with guest count if I can do the Escape or may do a Swan/Dolphin or nearby hotel wedding for the ceremony and possible reception.

I've fallen in love with the idea of the Illuminations desert party, but I wanted to know from those with experience:
-did you do a morning/afternoon ceremony with brunch or lunch, then take a break, then go to the desert party?

-Or do a later ceremony, dinner, then desert party after?

I don't want it to feel too rushed, but on the other hand I"m not sure what my guests would do between the events.

I appreciate any suggestions

Welcome! I am looking forward to all your planning! We had an illuminations DP, and our ceremony was at 2:30. Our timeline looked like:

2:30 Ceremony
3:00-4:00 Cocktails
4:00- 7:45 reception (cut short to travel)
8:00-9:30 DP!

I personally liked NOT having a break in between, as it kept the party going until the end. The later ceremony time really helped too, since we woke up at ~9:00AM to start getting ready.

I was an Escape Bride - this is what we did:
2:30 Ceremony
5:00 Dinner (cake served here)
8:00 DP

I liked that besides between the ceremony and the dinner, we didn't have any gaps. I did not like that we were completely full and couldn't enjoy the DP. I would have swapped out Dinner for just appetizers and done a savory and sweet DP.
