Hi Everyone! I don't know if a thread like this already exists, but i am looking into wedding registries....
I'm thinking one online registry like Amazon and one store registry. Undecided as to whether we want a honeymoon registry. I don't want to overstep requests when we are asking people to pay an arm and a leg to fly! Can anyone make some recommendations?

I didn't want a registry because I didn't want gifts because people were already shelling out money and taking time off work to be at our wedding.
That said - I did have a 'secret' registry at Target because I got a voucher that said 'create a bridal registry and we'll give you a $20 gift card'; I wanted the gift card. Had my wedding been larger, I would have done a Target and Amazon registry and left it at that.

I also did a registry of some things we can really use. My sister has already asked me what we need, so there may be others who would like to get something as well. I didn't go nuts though, maybe 10 things total on my registry.

I'm probably going to have a registry with a few things (i.e. nice tableware),but honestly I don't want any gifts because people are splurging to be at our wedding.
But I would suggest to register with stores that carry home goods and are at basically every mall like Crate&Barrel or Williams-Sonoma.

I think amazon really is the best choice. I've purchased off of registries on there and I found very easy. I would think it would be easier for guests to order from there and have it shipped to your house, instead of lugging a gift to Florida!

We're not planning a huge registry either but I think a small one on Amazon is the best way to go. Like Gummybear said, it's easier to get things shipped instead of having to lug big stuff on a plane.

We have a small registry at Bed Bath and Beyond and a honeymoon registry. I wasn't going to do one but my mom's friends were asking about registries because they wanted to get us something so I just made them for them so they could do something if they wanted. I'm not asking my friends or family to get us anything since they are travelling for the wedding.

Almost exactly the same thing that Shanna's doing: we have a honeymoon registry (with honeyfund.com), but won't be giving it to people unless they ask. It's more for guests who can't make the wedding but really want to give a gift.

We registered at Target and tried to keep the average cost per item pretty small. We were both established and living on our own already, so we didn't need much. New kitchen towels and wine glasses were wonderful gifts that didn't impose on anyone.

We did 3.... Williams Sonoma (loved) Kohl's (hated) and Disney's Honeymoon Registry at Aulani (loved). It was nice getting back from our Honeymoon and not having a big bill to pay, because our guests covered it!

Thanks everyone! Similar to shanna, friends of the family insisted they wanted to support our wedding!

We're going to make one at Target just to get my $20 gift card.
We'll probably do the Disney Honeymoon thing because we want to do a few tours.

We are using a cash registry that allows us to post pictures of what the money would go to. I think it's Simple Registry?
You can even use your own pictures. |

Why not get a registry for disney honeymoon? Just google the keyword disney registry, it seems to be easy to use. You can get Carriage Rides, Magic Your Way tickets ect...

We're doing a honeymoon registry, plus we registered at Target. I'm not expecting anything from the Target registry, but I figured if people wanted to get us a physical gift, they would do it regardless of if we had a registry. And I'd rather guide them in the right direction than have them try to guess what we need/want.

We had planned on just doing a honeymoon registry (with honeyfund.com), but I just looked at the one for https://disneyparksandresorts.honeymoonwishes.com/ it looks easy enough and they can send you a check, they can use your Paypal or you can use bank account transfers. The information was easy to do with alot of nice ideas for people to give towards something you can use or do. Smiles...

Since it's a destination wedding I am going to make a registry at Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond. I'm fully expecting people who do make the wedding to not get anything but I know some people will want to get something regardless of if they can attend (and more likely if they can't)....also making a registry just sounds so fun!

My initial thought on the registry was that we don't need anything as we have been living together for years and have a fully stocked household. However, that said, I kind of want the "experience" of registering for items, even if I never give the registry info to anyone. Plus we have discussed that we might register for some items like new dishes and silverware that we don't really need, but would like to update and that way if people are asking for gift ideas we can direct them to that. I am thinking that most of our guest list are probably the cash/check in a card kind of people.

I LOVE the idea of a honeymoon registry. I was thinking no registry having guests travel and pay for hotel and park tickets. I'll have to look into that disney honeymoon registry

We were hoping that DFTW Honeymoon Registry would have covered a trip to Disney Shanghi already...it would help with budgeting anyway!

Do a lot of people contribute to the honeymoon registry?
