Default hooking up an Ipod

Does Disney have hook ups for playing ipod in the reception venues?

We asked our coordinator if California Grill had the ability for an iPod hookup and she said yes. I am unsure about the other reception venues but I'm sure they do! She said it would be a small fee to hook it up. But in some cases, when you're cutting for a budget it's MUCH cheaper than a DJ or live music!

They do have the ability to hook up an iPod, but you either have to bring your own sound system or rent one from them.

My consultant told me that it's $450++ to hook up through them. Had no clue you could bring your own sound system so if you're reception is in a smaller area you could maybe get away with buying some decent bluetooth speakers and calling it a day?

Our plan was to have our favorite DJ from home attend our reception. But when he could not make it at the last minute, we went with the iPod option. I was not confident that a Florida DJ who did not know me would be able to "move my crowd". We had our reception at Ariel's. I believe the fee was $350. They provided the speakers and microphone. It was a lot of fun and we were confident that we would be able to hear our favorites at the reception because we had our DJ prepare a play list. This is a great budget saver too. All my guest had a blast.

I am also interested in simply creating a playlist. Any idea what kind of sound system is needed?

Has anyone used the iPod hookups at Disneyland? It's only $100.

We will be in the Napa Room and my fiance already has a nice bluetooth speaker that we use often and our planner said that it would work well because it is a smaller space

I have had this thought myself. We are not interested in a DJ or band and I was thinking about creating a playlist on an ipod and supplying my own speaker(s). Glad to know justme0729 that your planner didn't nix the idea of supplying your own speaker.
