Default Lounges for Casual Meet and Greet?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone has had a casual meet up for their wedding the night people are arriving in? I'm thinking not an ADR or anything. Maybe a pool bar or a lounge. How do those locations handle a sort-of large group (of like 15-20?), and what time do they generally close out?

Thanks!

We haven't done it yet, but we're planning on having a casual get together at the Beach Club the night before our wedding. I've heard of lots of people having meetups at pool bars, resort bars, etc. I don't think there would be a problem handling a big group, since I'm sure lots of people travel with families just as big. I think most resort bars close at midnight.

We had everyone meet us at our pool. All 25 of our guests showed up. We brought a small cooler with beer and water, and a bottle of wine, as well as snacks. No problems at all. I had called my hotel prior to check in to find out about reserving an area at the pool or in the lounge (if it rained) and they told me no need.

I love this idea..That is why I am having my dessert party the night before the wedding. I think I will still this idea for the day after as a way to say farewell to all of our wedding guests. Any one have any other suggestions, as to places to meet up. What about downtown Disney at the outdoor Margarita bar they finished this year? Has anyone done that yet? Smiles. Hi Nancy!

We will just be hanging out at the POP Century Petals pool bar, but DTD is another great option!

Anyone know about how much is the dessert party per person? And do they do those at Disneyland California?

We tried to have one at Fulton's Crab House in Pleasure Island. We got married fourth of July weekend. Traffic was horrible, and getting around and parking was horrible. We were not prepared for this. Most places do not accommodate groups of 20 or more without booking a catered private dining experience. It rained on that evening and my meet and greet was a nightmare. :-
